Marc-Andre Fleury has cleared concussion protocol
Marc-Andrew Fleury has stepped onto the ice at City National Arena for the second consecutive day. The front office has been fairly silent since he suffered a concussion 52 days ago, but Golden Knights fans can rejoice.
“He has passed his formal neuropsychology test, and is currently in the return to play protocol,” said General Manager George McPhee. “He will be in that this week and if there are no setbacks then he will be cleared for full-contact later in the week.” – Jesse Granger of the Las Vegas Sun
Head coach Gerard Gallant had previously stated that once he clears protocol it would be another five or so days before he will be ready to go. If he is cleared for full-contact by Wednesday, it could possibly set him up to be ready for their December 12th game at home versus the Carolina Hurricanes. More importantly, it’s a good sign for his chances when the Pittsburgh Penguins visit T-Mobile Arena.
While goalie coach Dave Prior and the Golden Knights prospects have worked wonders, it’s refreshing to know our #1 may return for what will be a tough stretch of games that includes two division match-ups and another five against teams in the top ten.
